As the puck drops in their Round 2 series against the Vancouver Canucks, the Edmonton Oilers will be without trade deadline acquisition Adam Henrique.

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed that the 34-year-old forward is out for Game 1 and that Connor Brown will be active in his place.

Henrique registered two points in Edmonton’s first-round series win over the Los Angeles Kings, but his status against Vancouver was in doubt as he deals with an ankle injury.

The Oilers are hopeful that Henrique will be able to play in Game 2 on Friday.

Henrique had six goals and nine points in 22 games with the Oilers after being acquired by Edmonton from the Anaheim Ducks at the deadline.

Brown has yet to suit up for the Oilers in these playoffs and last played in a post-season game with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2018-19 season.

The 30-year-old winger had four goals and 12 points in 71 games for the Oilers this season.

You can catch all the action between the Canucks and Oilers in Game 1, starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. Watch live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
