Draisaitl logged 16:43 minutes of ice time and registered two assists during Game 1’s 5-4 loss to the Canucks. Draisailt was not seen on the ice or Oilers bench for a brief period of time during the second period. He would return to the ice and take a quick shift before ultimately heading back down the tunnel to the locker room.

Knoblauch said that Draisaitl had left due to cramping. “Between cramping and some equipment issues, that’s why his ice time was down,” Knoblauch told reporters following Game 1.

Draisaitl was not at morning practice, raising even more questions about the status of his health. The 28-year-old has tallied five goals and seven assists for 12 points in six games, leading the team in points with Connor McDavid.

The German forward registered 41 goals and 106 points in 81 games during the 2023-24 regular season.

Henrique is considered day-to-day after missing Game 1 with a lower-body injury. Henrique has tallied one goal and one assist in five playoff games with the Oilers. The 34-year-old veteran has six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 34 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

Henrique was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks at the trade deadline for the Oilers’ 2024 first-round pick and a conditional 2025 fifth-round pick, he finished the season with 51 points in 82 games.

Edmonton and Vancouver will play Game 2 on Friday at Rogers Arena at 10 p.m. ET.
