The Vancouver Canucks are just one win away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 13 years.

They currently lead the Pacific Division Finals 3-2 after a huge 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on home ice on Thursday. Contributions have been made all around the lineup. From big guns like J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser to guys like Dakota Joshua and Pius Suter, everyone is making plays to help Vancouver put together its best run in quite some time.

One of the reasons behind the team’s success is head coach Rick Tocchet’s work behind the bench. While some teams like to keep running with the same lines, Tocchet has made the right moves in order to ensure the best lineup is on the ice against the Oilers. It has paid off, as the Canucks managed to limit scoring chances for the likes of Leon Draisaitl and captain Connor McDavid.

On Friday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk look at how the Canucks’ adjustments have helped them in the second round.

Frank Seravalli: This was the Canucks taking it to Edmonton…That was the one game I’ve been waiting for from Vancouver. I’ve been around this team all spring, they have won some games in a serious circus-like fashion…every ounce of the Game 5 win was deserved. When you look at shutting down a historically good power play–a power play that had scored in every game so far this spring–to shut them, to force turnovers, to play in their face…they meshed it perfectly. They made tweaks to their game, they made changes to their lineup. This has been a chess match going back and forth, and now, advantage Rick Tocchet and the Canucks.
