Oilers’ Carrick slots into lineup for must-win Game 6 vs. Canucks

Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch decided to shake up his fourth line ahead of their must-win Game 6 contest against the Vancouver Canucks.

Trade deadline acquisition Sam Carrick joined the lineup as their fourth-line centre, replacing Corey Perry, who dressed but was a late healthy scratch. Derek Ryan moved up to the third line, with Ryan McLeod and Warren Foegele.

Perry has struggled in the second-round all-Canadian matchup against the Canucks, failing to register a point in the five games he played. He saw a series-low ice time of 7:11 in Game 5 and was minus-one on the contest.

Carrick was acquired alongside Adam Henrique at the trade deadline in March and dressed in 16 regular-season games for the Oilers. In three games this post-season, all in Round 1, he registered one assist.
