Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch said after the morning skate that Henrique, who has missed six straight games due to an ankle injury, will take warmups “and then we’ll decide.”

The 34-year-old from Brantford, Ont., has one goal and one assist in six playoff games with both points coming in Game 1 of the first round against the Los Angeles Kings.

“He’s very close and more time off is only going to make him 100 per cent,” Knoblauch told reporters Friday. “Right now, he’s probably 98 per cent and he could come in the lineup. Now we have to make a decision on what’s best for our team.

“A player like Adam would be a huge boost to our team and that’s something we have to decide.”

The Oilers acquired Henrique from the Anaheim Ducks at the trade deadline in a deal that also involved the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Henrique had nine points (six goals and three assists) in 22 games during the regular season after arriving in Edmonton.

The Oilers hold a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Final after winning the opener 3-2 in double overtime Thursday.
