The Edmonton Oilers are making a change on the blue line for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.

At morning skate, Vincent Desharnais took Cody Ceci‘s spot on the Oilers’ second defensive pairing with Darnell Nurse. Head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed that Ceci would be scratched from the lineup.

The pairing of Ceci and Nurse took criticism for their performance in Game 1 after being on the ice for two goals against. This will be the first time during his time with the Oilers that Ceci will be a healthy scratch.

Desharnais has not played since Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars.

Despite missing the team’s morning skate, Evander Kane said he would be in the lineup for Game 2. Adam Henrique took Kane’s spot on the second line with Dylan Holloway and Leon Draisaitl.

Knoblauch did not confirm if Kane will play on the second line and added that Sam Carrick is also an option to play but another forward will have to come out to make room for him.
