The Edmonton Oilers lost 4-1 to the Florida Panthers in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final Monday night, giving the Panthers a 2-0 series lead and pushing the Oilers further away from winning their sixth championship in franchise history.

On Tuesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and former NHL defenseman Colby Cohen discuss Game 2 and how they feel about the Oilers’ chances of coming back in this series.

Frank Seravalli: To quote the old Yogi Bera, “It’s getting late, early.” If you were to rate for me on a scale of one-to-10, what’s your level of concern for Edmonton after trailing 2-0 in this series?

Colby Cohen: It’s probably about a six.

Frank Seravalli: That’s it?! It’s gotta be higher than a six.

Colby Cohen: The reason it’s a six-out-of-10 is a series is not out of control until you lose on home ice.

Frank Seravalli: Oh stop it, stop it.

Colby Cohen: We’ve seen the Edmonton Oilers with their backs against the wall, we’ve seen it multiple times this season, we’ve seen it in these playoffs. The one thing I cannot let go of is Connor McDavid. I just don’t think he’s going to go this entire seasson quiet. There’s going to be a moment where he puts the team on his back and drags them into this, since he’s the best in the world.

To me, a six-out-of-10 is high. We’re talking about 60 percent out of 100.

Frank Seravalli: We’re talking about five games left in the season at the most. This could be a five-game series. I give this level of concern a nine-out-of-10. I’m not an alarmist, I’m an Edmonton believer. This team was left for dead, and I’ve watched all their character wins through the regular season and when they faced Vancouver in the second round.

I just think this is a totally different beast. I think Florida is one of the best team’s in the league, and the lack of Aleksander Barkov may change the equation, but there’s a reason why teams who go up 2-0 in a series win it over 90 percent of the time.
