Oilers’ Perry and Nurse likely ready for Game 3 vs. Florida

Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch spoke to the media ahead of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final slated for Thursday.

Knoblauch gave key information on forward Corey Perry and defenseman Darnell Nurse, both are likely ready for Game 3. Nurse logged just under 2:00 of ice time in Game 2, but seems poised to play in Game 3.

Meanwhile, Perry logged just under 9:00 in Game 1 and was a scratch for Game 2. All signs point to the veteran returning to the lineup.

As far as Evander Kane’s status goes, Knoblauch stated “We haven’t decided yet.” Kane was injured in the Western Conference Final Game 6 win against the Dallas Stars on June 2. But since then, it has been nothing but speculation regarding both his injury and his status.

Kane announced in April that he had been playing through a sports hernia throughout the regular season.

Game 3 is schedule to be on Thursday, while Game 4 will be on Saturday, both games in Edmonton. IF the series goes past four games, Game 5 will be in Florida on Tuesday, June 18.
