The Oilers haven’t given up on their Stanley Cup dream but need a miracle to win the organization’s first championship since 1990.

Teams that have gone up 3-0 in a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final have won 27 out of 28 series, so the odds aren’t in the Oilers’ favor.

Now, the Florida Panthers are only one win away from winning their first-ever Stanley Cup, and the season could be over on Saturday, as Game 4 is being played in Edmonton.

The Oilers were the better team in Game 1 but lost due to some incredible goalkeeping from Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky.

In Game 3, they yet again outshot their opponent but found themself three goals behind in the second period after three goals in a 6:19 span.

Edmonton did push in the third period; they managed to score two goals, but they never got the equalizer.

They could really need some points from superstar Leon Draisaitl at the moment, but he’s having a surprisingly tough time producing offensively.

Draisaitl has gone pointless in his first three Stanley Cup Final games. It’s his first three-game pointless streak since March 7-11, 2020.

After the Oilers’ third straight loss against the Panthers, Draisaitl slammed his performance with an unexpectedly honest assessment of himself.

”Yeah, it’s very frustrating, of course,” said Draisaitl. ”I pride myself on being good in the playoffs and playing well and just can’t seem to get anything going. So yeah, I obviously have to look in the mirror and try to be better.”

But Draisaitl hasn’t given up. He still believes that the Oilers can turn it around.

”We’re a good offensive team,” Draisaitl said. ”They’re doing a good job, but we’re still getting our looks. It’s just when you’re chasing the game for a big chunk of the night, it’s hard to come back. It’s a steep hill right now, obviously. No choice but to take it one game at a time. Try and get one win in Game 4 and go from there.”
