Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane will be travelling to Sunrise with the team and could potentially play in Tuesday’s Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.
Kane is currently dealing with a sports hernia and missed Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, while only playing 10 minutes in Game 2.
2024 Stanley Cup Final: Oilers vs. PanthersHead coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters on Sunday that the forward will be with the team on the flight to the Sunshine State and there’s a “possibility” he could play in the elimination game. A final decision on Kane’s status will be made closer to the game.
The Oilers staved off elimination on Saturday with a dominant 8-1 win at home, but still trail the Panthers 3-1 in the series.
Kane has scored four goals and recorded four assists in 20 games played this post-season.
