Oilers’ Kane travelling to Florida, ‘possibility’ to play in Game 5

Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane will be travelling to Sunrise with the team and could potentially play in Tuesday’s Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.

Kane is currently dealing with a sports hernia and missed Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, while only playing 10 minutes in Game 2.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters on Sunday that the forward will be with the team on the flight to the Sunshine State and there’s a “possibility” he could play in the elimination game. A final decision on Kane’s status will be made closer to the game.

The Oilers staved off elimination on Saturday with a dominant 8-1 win at home, but still trail the Panthers 3-1 in the series.

Kane has scored four goals and recorded four assists in 20 games played this post-season.
