It will be Carrick’s third team in three seasons. The Orland Park, Illinois native was in the Seattle Kraken organization in 2023-24, the team he signed with prior to their inaugural season three years ago. He ended up playing the entire year with the AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds. While he didn’t get the chance to play in the NHL, Carrick was able to go on a long playoff run, as the Firebirds made it to the Calder Cup Final for the second year in a row, losing to the Hershey Bears once again.

He signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Boston Bruins in July 2022, playing just one game in Boston, playing the majority of the season with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Since the 2019-20 season, Carrick has spent most of his time in the AHL, getting a few games in the NHL here and there. Across his 11-year career, he has made stops with the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, Dallas Stars and New Jersey Devils, playing with all of their primary farm teams along the way.

In 242 NHL games, the 30-year-old has scored 13 goals and 37 assists, including playing in six games with the Maple Leafs during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In 350 AHL appearances, Carrick has scored 45 goals and 148 assists, with 34 points in 54 playoff games.

The former Plymouth Whaler represented his country on his way up the developing ranks. He played for the United States in the 2011 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge, the 2012 IIHF Men’s Under-18 World Championship and 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.
