Lavoie split the 2023-24 campaign between the Oilers and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Bakersfield Condors. Lavoie notched a career-high 28 goals and 22 assists for 50 points in 66 games with the Condors, the 23-year-old ranked first among Condors’ skaters in goals for a second season in a row, and third in points. Lavoie appeared in seven NHL games with Edmonton throughout the regular season but was held pointless.

The Chambly, Quebec product was a second-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2019 draft out of the Halifax Moosehead of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). During his draft year, Lavoie racked up 73 points in 62 games, before adding 32 points in 23 games during the QMJHL Playoffs. He spent one more campaign in the Q, this time for Chicoutimi before signing his entry-level contract in 2020. He then played for Vasby IK in the HockeyAllvsenskan, a second-tier Swedish hockey league for a season before moving to the AHL later that season, where he has since spent his professional career.

In 202 AHL games with Bakersfield, Lavoie has tallied 71 goals and 60 assists for 131 points in that frame. He has added two goals and six points in 10 Calder Cup playoff contests.

The Oilers have had a busy offseason so far, extending Connor Brown, Adam Henrique and Corey Perry, while also signing free agents Viktor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner and acquiring Matt Savoie via trade from Buffalo.
