The Edmonton Oilers have added a familiar face to their hockey operations staff.
Former Oiler Zack Kassian has joined the team as a professional scout, the team announced Saturday.
Kassian played seven of his 13 NHL seasons with the Oilers. The gritty forward recorded 92 goals, 111 assists and 913 penalty minutes over 661 career NHL games.
The Oilers also added Warren Rychel (director, pro scouting), Aaron Nagy (amateur scout), Erik Elenz (video analytics coaching coordinator), Dominik Zrim (director, hockey strategy) and David Evanochko (lead solutions architect) to their hockey operations staff on Saturday.
Zrim is an interesting addition for the Oilers as he was a co-founder of the popular hockey website CapFriendly which was purchased by the Washington Capitals in mid-June and officially shut off to the public in July. He previously worked with the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks.
