The Edmonton Oilers have been skating uphill this season and those challenges continued on Tuesday.
Already trailing 2-0 to the Philadelphia Flyers, Evan Bouchard thought he had scored a goal to cut the deficit in half. But the officials quickly waved off the goal, citing goaltender interference against Zach Hyman.
Through three games and one period, the Oilers have now scored three goals and had four more taken off the board.
To add salt to the wound, the first Flyers goal survived two video reviews before counting. The first review was to determine if the puck crossed the line and the second came on a failed coach’s challenge by the Oilers for goaltender interference.
Edmonton entered the game looking for its first win after starting the season 0-3-0.
