Which NHL team will have the longest unbeaten streak to start 2024-25?

We’re just over a week into the 2024-25 NHL regular season, and so far we’ve gotten plenty of surprising starts from a multitude of teams around the league.

With most squads having played at least three to five games, we’re left with just three that remain undefeated: the Winnipeg Jets, the Tampa Bay Lightning and, perhaps most surprising of all, the Calgary Flames.

The Jets have benefited from all-world play from Mark Scheifele and 2024 Veznia Trophy-winner Connor Hellebuyck, the Lightning have gotten bolts of offense from Nikita Kucherov and a return to form from Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Flames are seeing big-time performances from both Jonathan Huberdeau and Rasmus Andersson.

On Thursday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk take part in their #AskDFO segment, with one viewer asking among the three teams who still haven’t lost a game in either regulation or overtime or a shootout, which team will have their unbeaten streak broken first and whose will last the longest?

Tyler Yaremchuk: The Jets are one of those teams, they’re in action Friday night against the San Jose Sharks. Meanwhile, the Lightning get the Ottawa Senators and the Flames get the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night.

Out of those three, who do you think goes the longest with their unbeaten streak?

Frank Seravalli: I like what I’ve seen from Seattle this week so I see them getting on the board against the Flames.

Tyler Yaremchuk: I can see Seattle winning that one, and since they play Seattle, I think Winnipeg keeps it rolling. They get the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, so I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we’re talking about a 5-0-0 Jets team on Monday.

Frank Seravalli: Me neither.
