Clattenburg currently plays for the Flint Firebirds in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he has tallied 10 goals and eight assists along with 57 penalty minutes over 22 games.

The Firebirds captain saw game action in both Oilers rookie and main camps this year, impressing enough to earn himself an entry-level contract.

Throughout his four year OHL career with the Soo Greyhounds and the Firebirds, the Arnprior, Ontario native has amassed 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points and 251 penalty minutes in 138 games.

Clattenburg was listed as one of the other notable prospects in Steven Ellis’s 2024-25 Oilers prospect pool breakdown along with James Stefan, RW (20), Jayden Grubbe, C (21), Brady Stonehouse, RW (19), William Nicholl, C (18), Dalyn Wakely, C (20), Matt Copponi, C (21), Joel Maatta, C (22), Shane Lachance, LW (20), Maxim Denezhkin, C (23), Tomas Mazura, C (23), Berry Bauer, LHD (18), Albin Sundin, LHD (19), Nikita Yevseyev, LHD (20), Luca Munzenberger, LHD (21), Connor Ungar, G (22), Nathaniel Day, G (19), Samuel Jonsson, G (20), Eemil Vinni, G (18)

At the time the 19-year-old was acquired by the Firebirds in January last season, their head scout Mike Oliverio described Clattenburgh, and the other player they acquired at the time, Alex Kostov, as players they expected in their lineup for “the next couple of years.”

“These are two prototypical power forwards, big bodies that will help add depth to our lineup immediately,” Oliverio said. “Both Kostov and Clattenburg have great size and compete level and as younger players, they have the opportunity to be a part of our lineup for the next couple of years.”
