As per TSN insider Darren Dreger, the Edmonton Oilers are singing defenseman John Klingberg.
Details of the contract have not yet been released.
Klingberg had recently expressed interest in returning to the National Hockey League with teams like Edmonton, Toronto, and the Ottawa Senators.

The 32-year-old appeared in 14 games last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs where he tallied five assists in 14 games before being sidelined with a hip injury that required surgery. Klingberg signed a one-year contract with the Maple Leafs this past summer with an AAV of $4.15 million.
Klingberg has struggled mightily in his first season playing in Canada. sitting second last on the Leafs with a -2.1 goals above replacement and -0.3 wins above replacement, according to Evolving-Hockey.
The Goteborg, Sweden native was at his offensive best during his time with the Dallas Stars, scoring 10 goals and 48 assists for 58 points in 2015-16, as well as a career-high 59 assists and 67 points in 2017-18.
Klingberg was an integral part to the Stars’ 2020 Stanley Cup Playoff run, scoring four goals and 17 assists for 21 points in 26 games, averaging 23:20 of ice time.
In 10 NHL seasons, Klingberg has 81 goals and 331 assists for 412 points in 633 career games.
Edmonton is currently second in the Pacific Division with a 29-13-3 record and 61 points in 45 games, they sit tied for points with the Vegas Golden Knights. The Oilers are slated to face the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, and the Canucks again on Thursday.
Details will come as to when to expect Klingberg in the Oilers lineup and when he will make his debut in blue and orange.
