Trent Frederic will make his Edmonton Oilers debut Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings, head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed, according to Sportsnet's Gene Principe.
Frederic has been sidelined since Feb. 25 with a lower-body injury. The Oilers acquired the forward from the Boston Bruins on March 4 for second and fourth-round picks, as well as prospects Shane LaChance and Max Wanner.
The 27-year-old tallied eight goals and 15 points in 57 games with the Bruins this season, and he has 44 penalty minutes on the campaign. Frederic netted a career-high 18 goals and 40 points last year.
Frederic practiced on a line with Adam Henrique and Zach Hyman on Friday, according to team commentator Bob Stauffer.
The Oilers are without star forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl due to injuries.
