Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner is back between the pipes against the Winnipeg Jets, head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed Sunday.
Skinner didn't play Edmonton's last eight games after sustaining a concussion March 26 against the Dallas Stars in a collision with Mikko Rantanen. He backed up Calvin Pickard on Friday.
"Just a lot of treatments, a lot of recovery," Skinner said. "Trying to get my mind right. Concussions are kind of a little bit different, just 'cause I felt fine in my body and I looked good in terms of I wasn't limping or anything like that. I was hard to be around the rink, obviously, you just wish you could be out there battling with the guys."
The Oilers went 5-3-0 in Skinner's absence. Edmonton is locked into a first-round matchup against the Los Angeles Kings.
Skinner is looking forward to facing the league's top team in the Jets.
"It's gonna be a good test for me," Skinner said. "Kinda get me rolling again, get some rhythm back in my game."
Skinner expects to start the Oilers' final regular-season game against the San Jose Sharks as well.
