Drasaitl claims Maurice ‘Rocket’ Richard Trophy, Kucherov earns Art Ross

Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl has earned the Maurice (Rocket) Richard Trophy for the first time in his career.

Draisaitl scored a league-leading 52 goals during the 2024-25 regular season, which ended Thursday night.

The 29-year-old Draisaitl was the only player to crack the 50-goal plateau this season. Toronto Maple Leafs’ William Nylander was runner-up with 45 goals.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov captured the Art Ross Trophy for the third time in his career and second straight season.

Kucherov ended the regular season with 121 points (37 goals and 84 assists). The next closest player was Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche, who finished five points back of Kucherov.

The 31-year-old Kucherov led the league with 128 points in 2018-19 and 144 points last season.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck won the William M. Jennings Trophy on Wednesday as the Winnipeg Jets wrapped up the regular season a day early, allowing the fewest goals against (191).

It’s the second consecutive year Hellebucyk has earned the honour.

The Jets also finished first in the league with 116 points to secure the Presidents’ Trophy for the first time in franchise history.
