Draisaitl back from 7-game absence for opener vs. Kings

Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl is back in action for Game 1 against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.

Draisaitl missed the Oilers' last seven contests of the regular season after getting hurt on an innocent-looking play versus the San Jose Sharks on April 3.

Edmonton's leading scorer also ran into injury trouble in March, sitting out four games with an undisclosed issue. All in, Draisaitl missed 11 of the Oilers' last 14 outings.

The German native won the first Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy of his career this season, pacing the league with 52 goals in 71 contests. Draisaitl also recorded 106 points, hitting the century mark for the sixth time in his career.

Additionally, Oilers winger Zach Hyman is returning for the series opener after sitting out the last three regular-season games with an undisclosed injury. Hyman chipped in 27 goals and 44 points in 73 contests this campaign.

Edmonton will also get forward Trent Frederic back. He played in just one regular-season game for the Oilers on April 5 but reinjured his ankle after seeing just 7:10 of ice time against the Kings.
