Dallas Stars forward Roope Hintz won't play in Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday after taking a slash from defenseman Darnell Nurse in the previous contest.
Hintz was considered a game-time decision for the matchup and arrived at the arena without wearing a walking boot, according to ESPN's Emily Kaplan. He also took part in warmups but departed after a few minutes following a discussion with the training staff.

The play was reviewed for a major penalty, but Nurse was eventually assessed a two-minute minor. The Oilers went on to win the clash 3-0 to even up the Western Conference Final at one contest apiece.
Stars head coach Peter DeBoer ripped the sequence postgame, indicating that the slash would be a five-minute major if it were Edmonton superstar Connor McDavid who was injured.
Hintz has chipped in with five goals and 11 points in 15 outings in these playoffs. He ranked fourth on the Stars with 28 tallies and 67 points in 76 games in the regular season.
