Connor McDavid delivered a dagger to the Dallas Stars in a way only he can during Game 5 of the Western Conference Final, and his teammates were blown away by the effort.
The Edmonton Oilers captain buried a slick breakaway move with Roope Hintz draped all over him. McDavid's tally, which stood as the game-winner, came two minutes after the Stars made it a one-goal game.

"All things considered, my hockey brain goes to (how) that's one of the nicest goals I've seen him score," teammate Leon Draisaitl said, according to The Athletic's Daniel Nugent-Bowman. "Just the whole situation, how it played out, who he had coming up behind him - that's (a) big-time play.
"There's only one player in the world who can do that moment, and we're very fortunate to have him on our side."
Stars head coach Pete DeBoer knew the game shifted back in Edmonton's favor after the goal.
"He's not missing that," he said. "And it's game over."
The Oilers ultimately won the contest 6-3 to set up a Stanley Cup Final rematch with the Florida Panthers.
McDavid enters the series leading all players with 26 points in the playoffs. He won the Conn Smythe last year despite coming up one win shy of a championship.
