Panthers take down Oilers in 2OT thriller to knot up Stanley Cup Final

The Florida Panthers have evened the Stanley Cup Final at one game apiece after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-4 in double overtime of Game 2 on Friday night.

Florida looked to be in control for much of the second half of the game, netting two goals in the second period and holding steady for much of the third, but a goal from Edmonton’s Corey Perry tied things up with 18 seconds to go in regulation.

That was all undone by Brad Marchand, who netted the overtime winner on a breakaway, his second of the game, to lift the Panthers to victory and send the series back to Florida at 1-1.

More to come.
