The Stanley Cup Final has been a very tight and hard-fought series so far, with the series tied ahead of Game Three tonight. In Game Two, the Edmonton Oilers scored a power play goal after an astonishing play by Connor McDavid. Now, Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad has offered a hilarious response to the play…
The first period of Game Two had almost everything a hockey fan loves to see, with five goals scored. Although the Oilers were in the driver’s seat during the first period, the Panthers eventually secured the win with an overtime goal from Brad Marchand.
On a power play, Leon Draisaitl gave the Oilers a 3–2 lead after an incredible assist from Connor McDavid that truly showcased his elite skill. Ahead of Game Three, Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad explained just how difficult it is to defend against McDavid—with a hilarious response:
“He’s got multiple options, that’s the biggest challenge. You try to block a shot, you try to block a low pass, a backdoor pass, and a walk-on-water toe drag, so, yeah—McJesus,” Ekblad told reporters, unable to keep from smiling.
Game Three will be played tonight in Florida.
