Sam Bennett is the new betting favorite to win the Conn Smythe Trophy, surpassing Connor McDavid after the Florida Panthers took Game 3 of the series.
The Panthers centerman is +140 on theScore Bet/ESPN Bet, ahead of Edmonton Oilers superstar McDavid (+240) and Florida's Brad Marchand (+400) and Sergei Bobrovsky (+600). Bennett entered the series at +2500 and was as high as +15000 (bet $1, win $150) to win the Conn Smythe as playoff MVP at the start of the postseason.
Bennett recorded his fourth goal of the Stanley Cup Final and 14th of the playoffs Monday night during Florida's 6-1 victory over the Oilers, extending his postseason goal lead by four over Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl. Bennett is fifth in playoff points and leads the Panthers with 20.
The Panthers are -260 (72.2% implied probability) to win the Cup and have a 2-1 series lead. Meanwhile, the Oilers are +215 in the series after entering as the favorite.
Game 4 goes Thursday night in Sunrise, Florida, where the Panthers are pegged as -145 favorites.
