Report: Oilers expected to sign Frederic to 8-year deal worth roughly $30M

The Edmonton Oilers are expected to sign pending unrestricted free-agent forward Trent Frederic to an eight-year contract, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reports.

The average annual value is expected to land higher than $3.5 million but lower than $4 million, Seravalli added.

The contract will also include a modified no-movement clause, according to theScore's John Matisz.

The Oilers acquired Frederic from the Boston Bruins at the trade deadline, but an injury limited him to just one regular-season game for Edmonton. However, the 27-year-old returned for the postseason, managing a goal and three assists in 22 contests while averaging 11:24 per game.

Frederic notched eight goals and seven assists in 57 games with the Bruins before the trade. He set career highs with 18 goals, 22 assists, and 40 points in 82 games in 2023-24.
