Flames to ignite season with Battle of Alberta against Oilers

It’s a rivalry like no other in sports. And it’s happening in the first game of the season.

The Battle of Alberta will mark the opening game of the 2025-26 season for the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers in the Alberta capital on Oct. 8.

The full NHL schedule was released on Wednesday.

Calgary and Edmonton will meet three more times during the season.

The Flames’ home opener is slated for Oct. 11 against the St. Louis Blues, and they’ll close out their season with a three-game homestand vs. the Utah Mammoth (April 12), Colorado Avalanche (April 14) and Los Angeles Kings (April 16).
