Vasily Podkolzin is putting roots down in Edmonton.

The Edmonton Oilers announced Tuesday that the forward has signed a three-year contract extension worth $8.85 million, with an AAV of $2.95 million.

Podkolzin, 24, was acquired by Edmonton from the Vancouver Canucks on Aug. 18, 2024, in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

In his first season with the Oilers, the six-foot-one, 190-pound Russian recorded 24 points (eight goals and 16 assists) over 82 games.

Drafted 10th overall by the Canucks in 2019, Podkolzin recorded 35 points (18 goals and 17 assists) in 137 games with Vancouver.

He’s currently in the second season of a two-year, $2-million contract.
