Report: Maple Leafs sign Stolarz to 4-year, $15M extension

The Toronto Maple Leafs are signing goaltender Anthony Stolarz to a four-year extension with a $3.75-million cap hit, reports TSN's Chris Johnston.

Stolarz went 21-8-3 in his first campaign with the Maple Leafs last season and posted a .926 save percentage with a 2.14 goals-against average. He played a career-high 34 games, marking the first time in his career he appeared in over 30 contests. Stolarz finished fifth in Vezina Trophy voting.

The 31-year-old was set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Stolarz led the NHL in save percentage the past two seasons among netminders with 25 or more games played. He emerged as a starting goaltender in Toronto after notable stints as a backup with the Anaheim Ducks and Florida Panthers.

He joined Toronto on a two-year deal with a $2.5-million cap hit as a free agent in 2024. His new $3.75-million cap hit will rank 27th among goaltenders in the 2026-27 campaign.

The Maple Leafs also have Joseph Woll under contract at a $3.67-million cap hit through the 2027-28 season.

Stolarz has accumulated 142 NHL appearances over eight seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, Ducks, Panthers, and Maple Leafs. He has a career .917 SV% and a 2.55 GAA.
