Maple Leafs’ Scott Laughton week-to-week with lower-body injury

The Toronto Maple Leafs will start the season with a hole in their forward ranks.

Scott Laughton is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday.

The Leafs acquired the veteran forward from the Philadelphia Flyers at last year’s trade deadline. The Oakville, Ont. native had two goals and two assists in 20 regular-season games with Toronto before adding two helpers in 13 playoff games.

“I wasn’t good enough last year. That’s the bottom line,” Laughton, who posted a career-low minus-18 in 2024-25, said recently.

“It was hard. The hardest part was, for sure, leaving Philly. You grew up there, and we had our kid there, and everything like that. You build something there, and I think you’re so ingrained in being a Flyer. So, to come here was a different feeling.”

Laughton has 108 goals and 161 assists for 269 points in 681 career regular-season games with the Flyers and Leafs.

The Oshawa Generals product was picked 20th overall by the Flyers in the 2012 NHL Draft.
