A key piece on the Ottawa Senators‘ blue line is set to return just in time for the regular season.
Defenceman Nick Jensen told reporters Friday that he’ll suit up for the Senators’ pre-season finale against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.
Jensen, 35, has missed the entirety of the Senators’ pre-season slate up to this point after undergoing off-season hip surgery.
In 71 regular-season contests last season, Jensen tallied three goals and 17 assists while playing 20:13 a night. He played in all six of the Senators’ playoff outings but was held without a point in 20:56 per game.
He ranked fifth on the team in blocked shots with 95 in the regular season.
The Senators will open their regular-season slate next Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
