One of the top remaining unsigned players is going to put pen to paper.
On Wednesday night, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that the Edmonton Oilers are going to sign forward Jack Roslovic.

The terms of the new deal have yet to be revealed. The Oilers have a little bit of wiggle room to sign Roslovic to a cheap deal, as the team has a little over $1.8 million in cap space, according to PuckPedia.
Roslovic began the 2025-26 season as an unrestricted free agent. He remained without a contract after the conclusion of his one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes last season. That deal had a cap hit of $2.8 million.
There were multiple teams interested in the 28-year-old, including the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks. However, Roslovic has clearly leaped at the opportunity to join the two-time defending Western Conference champions.
Roslovic will provide some much-needed secondary scoring to a team that saw significant turnover since last year’s Stanley Cup Final. Though the team has captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, Edmonton could use a little more offensive prowess further down the lineup.
It helps that the Columbus, Ohio native is coming off a strong 2024-25 season. In 81 games with Carolina, he matched his career-high of 22 goals, notching 17 assists for a total of 39 points, the third-highest point production of his NHL career. It was a few points shy of his 45- and 44-point campaigns with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively.
Roslovic also registered four assists in nine postseason games for the Canes last spring.
Across nine NHL seasons, which have also included stops with the Winnipeg Jets and New York Rangers, Roslovic has appeared in 526 regular-season games, scoring 102 goals and 158 assists for 260 points. He’s also posted 17 points in 45 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
