Jack Roslovic set to make Oilers debut vs. Rangers

Edmonton Oilers fans appear set to get their first look at their team’s newest signing.

Forward Jack Roslovic is in line to make his Oilers debut on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers.

He lined up on the second line during the team’s morning skate, playing on the right wing alongside centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and left winger Matthew Savoie.

Roslovic joined the Oilers last week after going unsigned through the summer, penning a one-year, $1.5 million contract to join the Stanley Cup hopefuls.

The 28-year-old was among the top remaining unsigned players on the market. Roslovic scored 22 goals and added 17 assists in 81 games with the Carolina Hurricanes last season.

But the nine-year NHL veteran struggled to find a consistent role in the Hurricanes’ playoff lineup, which hurt his stock heading into free agency.

Roslovic has appeared in 526 career games split between the Winnipeg Jets, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers and Hurricanes, accumulating 102 goals and 260 points. He was selected 25th overall by the Jets in 2015.
