Everyone’s saying the same thing about Connor McDavid’s words

The Edmonton Oilers suffered another brutal beating on Tuesday, conceding eight goals at home to the Dallas Stars. Post-game, Connor McDavid got brutally honest about the Oilers’ performance – and fans all said the same thing about the superstar’s comments.

Things are just going terribly for the Edmonton Oilers at the moment. They played at home on Tuesday after a seven-game road trip, which ended with three losses in the final four. The Stars had two of their best players missing from the lineup, with Thomas Harley and Mikko Rantanen both absent.

But it didn’t matter. The Oilers suffered a humiliating loss, with the much-debated Stuart Skinner conceding four of the first eight shots on goal. He was pulled after the first period, but Calvin Pickard didn’t do much better. Less than a week ago, the Oilers let up seven goals to the Washington Capitals in a 7-4 loss. On Tuesday, the Stars won 8-3, and the Oilers’ superstars weren’t happy afterward.

Connor McDavid on the Oilers’ loss

The Oilers are currently outside of a playoff spot, just like every other Canadian team except the Ottawa Senators. The goaltending situation in Edmonton has been slammed for years now, and it just doesn’t seem to get better. After Tuesday’s game, McDavid addressed the goaltending performance, putting the blame on the whole team rather than on Skinner and Pickard.
“I really feel like goaltending is a team thing,” the captain said. “Tough for our goalies to look good when the group in front of them is not playing well. I don’t really care who it is, when the team in front of them is not playing up to their standards, then it’s tough for a goalie to look good. I felt bad for both of them tonight.”

Although McDavid refused to single out any player on the Oilers, everyone said the same thing about his post-game comments – that there’s no hiding his anger over the Oilers’ performance this season.
”He’s so f–king angry,” one wrote.
”Absolutely pissed off and trying to contain it in front of the press,” another responded.
”You have the best player in the world take a discount to stay and win and this is what you ice. I’m also pissed and I don’t even care about the Oilers,” another said.
”He is so done with everything. Bro will go to SJS just for the good vibes after this contract,” another said.
”He regrets that cheap extension,” another added.
