The New York Rangers are placing star defenseman Adam Fox on long-term injured reserve with a left shoulder injury, sources told Vincent Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
Fox is considered week-to-week and will be reevaluated around Christmas, reports Mercogliano.
The 27-year-old sustained the injury when Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brandon Hagel hit him into the boards Saturday.
Looked like Adam Fox’s left arm gets crunched by Hagel.

Fox's injury shouldn't impact his Team USA status for the 2026 Winter Olympics in February, according to Emily Kaplan of ESPN.
The 2021 Norris Trophy winner is tied with Artemi Panarin for the team lead with 26 points (three goals and 23 assists) over 27 games this season.
