Mammoth's Cooley out indefinitely with lower-body injury

Utah Mammoth star forward Logan Cooley is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, the team announced Monday.

Cooley hit his leg on the post while sliding into the net during Friday's game against the Vancouver Canucks. He stayed in the contest, but Utah held him out of Saturday's 2-0 win over the Calgary Flames.

The 21-year-old has been a key contributor for the Mammoth this season, tallying 14 goals and nine assists through 29 games.

Currently enjoying his third NHL campaign, Cooley has accumulated 59 goals and 73 assists over 186 career contests.

Utah has been a surprise this year, occupying the final wild-card spot with a 14-13-3 record. The team is tied in points with the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, though the Oilers have played one fewer game.
