A young forward has cemented his near future in Edmonton.
Quinn Hutson signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract extension with the Oilers, the team announced on Monday.
Hutson, 24, has appeared in six career games with the Oilers with one goal.
The undrafted winger has played 30 games with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condor this season, scoring more than a point per game with 23 goals and 15 assists.
Hutson, of North Barrington, Ill., spent last season with Boston University, where he recorded 23 goals and 27 assists in just 38 games.
He is the older brother of Montreal Canadiens defenceman Lane Hutson.
