Forwards Dylan Holloway and Sam Gagner have both been assigned to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, the Edmonton Oilers announced Thursday.
The move to send Gagner down to Bakersfield comes after the 34-year-old cleared waivers on Wednesday.
In his first season with the Oilers, Gagner has spent the majority of 2023-24 up with Edmonton, recording 10 points (five goals and five assists) in 27 games. In three appearances with Bakersfield, he has five points (one goal and four assists).
Holloway, 22, has also spent time with both teams this season. In 32 games with Edmonton, he has four points (three goals and one assist). In four games with Bakersfield, he has another four points (two goals and two assists).
The Alberta native was drafted by the Oilers as the 14th-overall pick in 2020.
With Holloway and Gagner in the AHL, the Oilers have created roster space for depth forwards Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick, who were acquired Wednesday in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks.
