The calendar has turned to April and that means we will get Stanley Cup Playoff action this month. There are less than three weeks remaining in the regular season and while the playoff races aren’t as spicy as maybe fans would have liked, there is a fascinating race brewing for the Art Ross Trophy.
Connor McDavid has racked up 25 points in his last ten games and is now is right behind both Nathan MacKinnon and Nikita Kucherov and he has games in hand. Jason and Frank started today’s pod by talking about the run that McDavid has been on and who they like in the Art Ross race. That also led to some talk about the Hart Trophy.
From there, Frank shared some information on the NCAA Frozen Four tournament. There are some players who’ve been eliminated that are now eligible to sign with NHL teams but a handful of the more big-name prospects have advanced in the tournament and likely won’t be turning pro this season.
The guys then continued their post-mortem series by going in-depth on a handful of rebuilding teams. The San Jose Sharks have finally fully committed to their rebuild, but how long will it take for them to become relevant again? They also took a look at the Chicago Blackhawks and the Arizona Coyotes.
Tyler also popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell delivered by DoorDash.
