The Los Angeles Kings were down a defenceman for a portion of the first period in Game 5.

Mikey Anderson exited Wednesday’s game against Edmonton after colliding with Oilers star Connor McDavid in the first period. He would return to the ice later in the period.

The collision between the two appeared to be accidental.

Anderson stayed down on the ice after making contact with McDavid and had to be helped to the locker room by a trainer.

The 24-year-old has a goal and two assists in this first-round series. He recorded two goals and 16 assists in 74 games over the regular season.

Edmonton currently holds a 3-1 lead in the series and will move on to the second round with a win Wednesday. Catch the ongoing action on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
