The Vancouver Canucks secured their spot in the second round with a narrow 1-0 Game 6 victory over the Nashville Predators on Friday night.

The game remained scoreless until Pius Suter broke the ice with 1:39 remaining in regulation.

Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs became the first rookie in franchise history to record a series-clinching win, per Sportsnet Stats.

Vancouver will take on the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.
