Samuel Jonsson is a promising Swedish goaltender who has rapidly climbed the ranks since being drafted 158th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2022. Standing at 6'5", Jonsson boasts the ideal frame for a modern NHL goalie, using his size effectively to cover the net and control angles. In the 2024–25 season with BIK Karlskoga of HockeyAllsvenskan, he posted a stellar 1.88 goals-against average, a .922 save percentage, and six shutouts in just 24 starts—leading the league in GAA and shutouts, and finishing second in save percentage. His performance earned him Allsvenskan Goaltender of the Year honors and a three-year entry-level contract with the Oilers in April 2025.
